A more even-looking complexion can change how you feel about your skin. At Med Spa Studios in Frisco, our Sciton fotofacial brings BroadBand Light® technology to a personal conversation about the changes you want to see.
Bring a little more clarity to your complexion
BBL can help soften the appearance of selected brown spots and visible redness. Start with the concern you notice most; an assessment helps distinguish sun-related pigment from conditions that need a different approach.
- Sun spots, age spots, and freckles
- Uneven-looking skin tone
- Redness and small visible facial vessels
Light with a purpose
A fotofacial, also called a photofacial, uses pulses of filtered light. BBL stands for BroadBand Light: a form of intense pulsed light, rather than a resurfacing laser. Light energy heats selected targets in the skin without peeling away the entire surface. The settings are selected for the concern being treated.
Your skin comes before the settings
Discuss your skin tone, recent tanning, pigmentation history, medications, and sensitivity to light. Melasma and other pigment concerns need careful assessment; a fotofacial is not the answer to every dark patch. Tell us about an upcoming sunny trip or important event so recovery can be part of the conversation.
What does a fotofacial feel like?
Protective eyewear shields your eyes during treatment. You may feel warmth or a quick snapping sensation with each pulse. Sensation and appointment length vary with the treatment area and settings; ask about comfort measures and preparation when arranging your visit.
A fresh look takes a little patience
Redness, warmth, or swelling can follow treatment. Pigmented spots may temporarily look darker before flaking and fading. Many people return to everyday activities promptly, but visible changes can last longer. Follow your provider’s guidance on gentle skin care, sun protection, makeup, and exercise. Blistering, burns, or pigment changes are possible; contact the team if your skin blisters or breaks.
Build your plan around your goals
Improvement is assessed as the skin settles. A series or future maintenance may be recommended, depending on your starting point and response. Sun protection helps care for your skin between visits. If texture or acne scars are your main concern, explore our resurfacing options too.
